McKean County Raceway Fall Classic Night One: Diegelman, Dixon, Asel, Baxter, Bidwell, and Heineman to Victory Lane! 🏁✨
(Kaitlyne Freer, East Smethport, PA – September 26, 2025) Darr Diegelman dominated Night One of the Fall Classic, leading every lap of the 15-lap Costa’s SuperMarket Pure/RUSH Stock Car Feature. The race ran smooth until the only caution came out with just two laps remaining, after an incident involving Dennis Cummings, Jake Mascho, and Zach Hamer (who never stopped moving). On the restart, Josh Fields turned up the pressure, challenging hard over the final circuits, but Diegelman held strong to take the checkered flag and the win.
Steve Dixon went wire-to-wire to capture the Close Racing Supply RUSH ProMod/EconoMod 15-lap feature on Night One of the Fall Classic. The race was relatively uneventful, slowed only once on the initial start when Thomas Murphy spun on his own. From there, Dixon set the pace and never looked back, cruising to the checkered flag.
Travis Asel went green-to-checkered to claim victory in the Mr. D’s Donuts SHARP Mini Late Model 15-lap feature on Night One of the Fall Classic. The race ran caution-free but was far from dull, with battles for position unfolding across the field. Rick Isadore kept steady pressure on Asel for much of the race, but Asel held strong to secure the win at the line.
Victor Baxter made his first-ever start in a mini stock a memorable one, driving green-to-checkered to win the 10-lap Kids Mini Stock feature on Night One of the Fall Classic. A lap-one caution took Addison Chamberlain and Alivia Miller out of contention early, leaving Baxter to fend off pressure from Chase Tidd. Despite Tidd’s efforts, Baxter held strong to capture his debut victory.
Damian Bidwell came out on top in a dramatic 25-lap Troups Creek Heating RUSH Crate Late Model feature on Night One of the Fall Classic. John Waters jumped to a big early lead over Mike Wonderling before a lap 4 caution for Wyatt White, who found himself in the frontstretch wall in an incident reminiscent of his last visit. On the restart, Jeremy Wonderling had already charged from his 8th-place start, moving into 3rd on lap 6 with Bidwell sitting in 2nd. By lap 18, J. Wonderling had climbed to 2nd and then powered to the lead on lap 20, with Waters reclaiming the top spot on lap 21. Bidwell, the fastest car on track, was running 3rd when the leaders tangled coming to two laps to go. Waters and J. Wonderling made contact, while Bidwell stayed collected through the chaos and emerged with the lead. Both caution cars exited on their own, setting up a clean sprint to the finish. Bidwell took the final green and never looked back, claiming the checkered flag with his fastest lap that lap at 16.342.
Holden Heineman captured the 15-lap Mini Stock feature on Night One of the Fall Classic. With 26 cars starting and 20 making it to the finish, the race ran clean throughout. Heineman powered past Nate Freeland on lap 5 to take the lead and never looked back, cruising to victory.

Jim Peterson Memorial Night Showcases Exciting Finishes Across All Divisions
(Kaitlyne Freer, East Smethport, PA – August 22, 2025) Victor Earle Jr. scored a hard-fought victory in the Costa’s SuperMarket Pure Stock Feature, taking home the checkers in the Jim Peterson Memorial. From the drop of the green, Earle Jr. set the pace with Bruno Mowery glued to his back bumper. The battle up front heated up as multiple cautions shook the field, sending the third- and fourth-place contenders to the tail on lap 8, and once again on lap 9. Despite the interruptions, the top two never wavered. Mowery stayed close through every restart, but Earle Jr. held strong to the finish to secure the Jim Peterson Memorial victory.
Steve Dixon captured the Jim Peterson Memorial in the Close Racing Supply RUSH Pro Mod Feature at McKean County Raceway. Dixon led the event from start to finish, showing speed on every restart.Multiple cautions slowed the race around the midway point, but they didn’t faze Dixon, who pulled away each time the green flag dropped. On RUSH Pro Mod Manufacturers Night, Dixon sealed the deal with a commanding performance to earn the victory.
Josh Outman claimed the Jim Peterson Memorial, Mr. D’s Donuts SHARP Mini Late Model Feature with a dominant performance. Outman grabbed the lead at the drop of the green, quickly pulling away from Carson Wonderling. He never looked back, pacing the field for all 15 laps. By lap 12, Outman was already working through lapped traffic, sealing a wire-to-wire victory in commanding fashion.
The Jim Peterson Memorial Mini Stock Feature delivered a wild finish. Early on, DJ Williams and Preston Cobb battled up front, while Trever Putt and Jacob Tubbs raced hard for third. By lap 10, Putt had joined the fight for the lead. On lap 12, Cobb made contact with the No. 28 in turn four, dropping himself back to third and out of contention for the win. That left Williams and Putt to settle it. After taking the white flag, the two raced side by side down the backstretch. Contact began in turn four and continued all the way to the flagstand. At the line, Williams had the slight advantage, but both drivers were disqualified for rough driving, holding positions with Cobb in 3rd.
Addison Chamberlain came out on top in the Jim Peterson Memorial Kids Mini Stock Feature. The five-car field quickly thinned, with only two cars remaining by lap 3, setting up a seven-lap shootout between Chamberlain and Jake Skinner. Chamberlain got the jump on the restart and never looked back, holding strong to secure the victory.

Feature Winners Shine at MCR: Holmes, Wilcox, Mowery, Isadore, Cobb & Tidd Take the Checkers
(Kaitlyne Freer, East Smethport, PA — August 1, 2025) The night kicked off with the popular Troups Creek Heating RUSH Crate Late Model “King of the Ring”, where 13 of the 15 cars went head-to-head in a $250 winner-take-all bracket battle. Round one saw Bill Holmes, Jeremy Wonderling, Dusty Waters, Jacob Tubbs, Paul Grigsby, and Chuck LaFleur move on, with Wonderling, Grigsby, and Austin Allen advancing through round two. In the final matchup, it was Wonderling versus Allen — and the then point leader proved his status, powering to the win and claiming the “King of the Ring” title.
Starting from the pole, Bill Holmes put on a flawless performance to win the 20-lap Troups Creek Heating RUSH Crate Late Model feature, leading every lap in a green-to-checkered run. While Holmes controlled the race up front, all eyes were on point leader Jeremy Wonderling, who started at the tail of the field. Wasting no time, Wonderling sliced through traffic, cracking the top 10 by lap 5. By lap 13, he had worked his way into 5th, where he ultimately finished — despite being consistently the fastest car on the track. Holmes’ flag-to-flag victory cements his place as a contender moving into 1st in points by 1, while Wonderling’s impressive drive from the back reinforced why he’s right on his tail, despite not having any victories at MCR yet this year.
Josh Wilcox parked it in Victory Lane once again, scoring his second Close Racing Supply ProMod feature win of the season at McKean County Raceway with a strong performance in the 15-lap main. From the drop of the green, it was a tight three-car battle between Wilcox, Al Brewer, and Ed Carley. The trio was nearly even at the line on lap one, with Wilcox edging ahead. But last week’s winner, Brewer, wasn’t going away quietly. The lead swapped hands multiple times in the early laps — Wilcox led lap 5, Brewer took over on lap 6, but Wilcox came back to lead laps 7 and 8. A caution on lap 8 for Dean Ingalls regrouped the field, but Wilcox nailed the restart and pulled away. From there, Wilcox never looked back, building a half-straightaway lead by the time the checkers flew. Behind him, the rest of the field was locked in a tight, nose-to-tail fight to the finish — but none could match Wilcox’s pace up front.
Bruno Mowery started on the outside of the front row in the Costa’s SuperMarket Pure Stocks and wasted no time taking control. After pole-sitter Zach Hamer led the opening lap, Mowery powered into the lead on lap 2 and never looked back. Once out front, Mowery steadily pulled away, stretching his advantage to an impressive four seconds by the end of the 15-lap feature. Hamer held on for second, but Mowery’s early move and consistent pace sealed the deal in his victory.
Jesse Isadore took control early and never gave it up, winning the 12-lap Mr. D’s Donuts SHARP Mini Late Model Feature in convincing fashion. Isadore made his move on lap 2, taking the lead from Rob Eaton. From there, Josh Outman applied steady pressure, working his way to Isadore’s rear bumper and looking for a way around. But on lap 9, disaster struck — Outman dipped low into turn 1, clipped an infield tire, and spun, bringing out a caution and sending him to the tail. With Outman out of contention, Isadore cruised unchallenged to the checkered flag, securing the win with a strong and steady drive.
Preston Cobb picked up his third feature win of the season in the 12-lap Mini Stock event, showing speed and control from the drop of the green. Only six of the eight cars that ran in the heat made the call for the feature, and a lap 1 caution proved to be the turning point. On the restart, Cobb jumped to the lead and never looked back. By the time the checkered flag flew, Cobb had stretched his advantage to nearly half a track over runner-up Bill Weatherly, capping off another impressive night behind the wheel.
Chase Tidd picked up his second Kids Mini Stock feature win of the year at MCR — and he earned it in one of the most unpredictable 4-car races you’ll see. The chaos started early, with a lap 1 caution and Alivia Miller pulling to the infield. Another car dropped out on lap 2, only to briefly return alongside Miller on lap 3. By the end of lap 2, Jake Skinner had also pulled off, and by lap 4, Tidd was the last car left running. Despite the attrition, Tidd stayed smooth and steady through the madness to claim the win — proving once again that to finish first, you must first finish.

Grigsby, Brewer, Outman, Hamer, Tidd, Cobb & Dixon Crowned on Todd Button Memorial Night at McKean
(Kaitlyne Freer, East Smethport, PA — July 25, 2025) Seven RUSH Pro Mods went head-to-head Friday night at McKean County Raceway, battling it out in an intense elimination-style bracket for the $250-to-win King of the Ring showdown for the Todd Button Memorial. In the opening round, Josh Canfield edged out Derek Austin to advance. Canfield’s momentum was short-lived, however, as Josh Wilcox bested him in Round 2. Wilcox then moved on to face veteran Steve Dixon in Round 3, where Dixon began what would become a dominant streak. Dixon rolled through the remainder of the bracket—eliminating Wilcox, then knocking out Nick Arnold, Al Brewer, and finally Dean Ingalls in succession. His performance earned him the crown and the $250 prize, officially claiming the King of the Ring title.
It was a pretty uneventful Todd Button Memorial Bandit Mini Stock feature Friday night at McKean County Raceway, with Chase Tidd making the most of his first appearance of the season by grabbing the win in the 10-lap main. Just four cars lined up for the feature, but caution struck early. A lap 1 caution sidelined one competitor before the race could even get going. Then, on lap 3, current points leader Jake Skinner was collected in a separate incident, knocking him out of contention and setting up a 7-lap sprint to the finish between Tidd and Alivia Miller. Tidd held strong and powered to the checkered flag, securing the feature win in his MCR season debut.
Zach Hamer made a statement in Friday night’s Todd Button Memorial Costa’s SuperMarket Pure Stock Feature at McKean County Raceway, taking command from the drop of the green and never relinquishing the top spot through all 15 laps. Hamer started out front and never looked back, but the victory didn’t come without late-race pressure. A caution with just a handful of laps to go took out second-place runner Tyler Rendell, eliminating Hamer’s closest challenger. As the field reset, a second caution flew on lap 14 for a tire on the track, just as Bruno Mowery was mounting a last-ditch charge. The incident set up a dramatic one-lap shootout for the win. Despite Mowery’s best efforts, he couldn’t get the jump on the restart, and Hamer hit his marks one final time to take the checkered flag and claim the win in wire-to-wire fashion.
Al Brewer captured the Todd Button Memorial Close Racing Supply RUSH Pro Mod Feature win Friday night at McKean County Raceway, leading every lap in a strong performance—but not without heavy pressure from start to finish. The race got off to a dramatic start as King of the Ring winner Steve Dixon was forced to retire on lap 1, bringing out an early caution and ending his night on the hook. From there, Brewer took control out front, but Nick Arnold was never far behind. The two battled closely throughout the race, with Arnold looking for any opening to get by. Despite the relentless challenge, Brewer held steady and fended off every attempt, taking the checkered flag and securing the feature victory.
Josh Outman wasted no time asserting control in Friday night’s Todd Button Memorial Mr. D’s Donuts SHARP Mini Late Model Feature at McKean County Raceway, grabbing the lead in turns 1 and 2 of the opening lap—and never looking back. Outman’s early move proved to be the race-winning moment, as he pulled away from the field and left no doubt about the outcome. Meanwhile, last week’s winner Jesse Isadore saw his night end early, pulling off on the backstretch of lap 1 and never rejoining the race. Once out front, Outman was untouchable. Hitting his marks with precision and maintaining a strong pace throughout the race, he built a comfortable lead and never let up—cruising to a dominant, statement-making victory.
Paul Grigsby parked it in Victory Lane Friday night at McKean County Raceway, capturing the Todd Button Memorial Troups Creek Heating RUSH Crate Late Model Feature after a hard-fought battle at the front of the field. The race started off eventfully with a lap 1 caution for a spinning car in turn 2, forcing most of the field to take evasive action early. Once the green returned, fans were treated to a thrilling mid-pack battle as John Waters, Brady Wonderling, and Bill Holmes ran three-wide for several laps, fighting for fourth position. Michael Sammick brought out back-to-back cautions with separate incidents, resetting the field for a lap 4 restart. That’s when current point leader Jeremy Wonderling made his move—charging into second and shuffling early frontrunner Jake Wilber back to fifth. Wonderling found momentum on the high side and went door-to-door with Grigsby for several laps in an exciting battle for the lead. But Grigsby stayed steady on the bottom and ultimately pulled away, holding off Wonderling to take the win at the checkers.
Preston Cobb closed out Friday night’s racing program at McKean County Raceway with a flag-to-flag victory in the Todd Button Memorial Mini Stock Feature, holding off a relentless Ryan Burke in a tightly contested race. Cobb jumped out to the lead from the drop of the green, with Burke glued to his bumper from the opening lap. The two ran nose-to-tail for the entirety of the event, neither giving an inch as the laps ticked away. As the leaders caught lapped traffic around lap 10, the pressure intensified, but Cobb stayed smooth through traffic and never opened the door for Burke to capitalize. The pair remained locked together all the way to the checkered flag, with Cobb securing the win in a fast and clean finale to the night’s racing.

Max Blair Goes the Distance in USMC Jason Dunham Memorial at McKean County Raceway
(Kaitlyne Freer, East Smethport, PA — July 4, 2025) Racing Returns to McKean County Raceway with USMC Jason Dunham Memorial Headliner. After multiple rainouts this season—including the postponed Jim Peterson Memorial—and a long break since May 16th, McKean County Raceway finally caught a break with beautiful weather for the highly anticipated July 4th USMC Jason Dunham Memorial. The holiday crowd packed the stands and was treated to a full night of racing action, headlined by a strong field of 23 Super Late Models battling for top honors. With several divisions on the card and feature events packed with drama, hard racing, and after race fireworks, the return to racing did not disappoint.
Max Blair dominated all 40 laps Friday night at McKean County Raceway to win the USMC Jason Dunham Memorial Super Late Model Feature. Blair started on the pole and never looked back, jumping out to an early lead before the first caution flew on lap 2, when Jared Miley slowed on the backstretch while running sixth. Blair quickly regained control on the restart and began slicing through lapped traffic by lap 10, keeping a steady, commanding rhythm up front. By lap 16, he had already put six cars a lap down before a second caution flew — this time for Colton Flinner, who had been running second before pulling off with mechanical trouble. On the restart, Eric Wilson moved into the runner-up spot, getting around Levi Yetter, while Blair continued to build his lead.
At the halfway mark, hard charging Andrew Yoder began making his presence known, working his way into third place and setting his sights on Wilson. Another caution slowed the field with just eight laps remaining when a car dropped off the pace, bringing everyone back together for one final restart. On that restart, Yoder powered past Wilson to take over second, but Blair remained in control. The No. 111 machine stayed smooth through the closing laps, navigating traffic cleanly and never facing a serious challenge en route to the win. Blair took the checkered flag and the $10,010 payday, leading every lap to claim the Jason Dunham Memorial victory.
JD Chamberlain, substituting for Ed Carley, took the win in the 15 lap, Close Racing Supply RUSH ProMod feature. Chamberlain ran a smooth race after Dean Ingalls and Steve Dixon, who were battling up front, both fell back after exiting turn 4 on the first lap. Al Brewer settled into second place and held it for the remainder of the race. Meanwhile, Josh Canfield and Derek Austin battled side by side for third, with Austin finally taking third on lap 10. With two laps remaining, both Ingalls and Canfield spun in turn 2, ending their races at the back of the field.
Jesse Isadore picked up the win in the Mr. D’s Donuts SHARP Mini Late Model Feature after a physical battle with Josh Outman. Isadore and Outman started on the front row and made contact entering turn 3 on the opening lap, with Isadore coming out ahead to lead lap one. Outman slipped to third but quickly recovered, reclaiming second on lap 2. From there, Outman spent the rest of the race tracking down Isadore. The two made contact again in turn 1 after the white flag, but Isadore held the lead and crossed the line first. After the checkered, extra curricular contact between the two led to Outman being disqualified.
DJ Williams claimed victory in the Mini Stock Feature Event, holding off Ryan Burke in a caution-free 15-lap race. Williams and Burke separated themselves from the rest of the field early, running nose-to-tail the entire race. Despite staying close, Burke never had a chance to make a move and finished just 0.211 seconds behind Williams at the line. The rest of the field trailed by nearly 10 seconds. Behind them, Bill Weatherly and Khloe Griffin battled for third through the middle laps, with Weatherly eventually securing the spot to the finish.
Josh Fields led all 20 laps from the pole to win a rough-and-tumble Costa’s SuperMarket Pure Stock Feature that saw just five cars finish out of the original 15 starters. The race was slowed by seven cautions, the first three coming in the opening five laps. Early on, Andrew Frey and Zach Hamer battled side by side until the third caution on lap 5 reset the field. Bruno Mowery and Mike Parmenter later fought for position, with Mowery taking over second on lap 13 and beginning to close in on Fields, who held a three-second lead. The No. 7A machine pulled off while running third on lap 17, during caution number 6. On the restart lap, heading into turn 4, Parmenter spun with contact, bringing out the seventh and final caution. Through it all, Fields remained in control, pulling away on each restart and never surrendering the lead to claim the win.
The Bandit Mini Stock Feature was cut short with no winner declared after a series of incidents left only two cars on track. A caution came out on lap 1 when Alivia Miller pulled off, reducing the field to just Jake Skinner and Addison Chamberlain. The pair continued until lap 6, when contact between them brought out another caution. With the caution out and half the race completed, officials ended the event without declaring a winner.

Scott Wins Woah Nellie Productions UMP Modified Race; Parmenter Claims Lee Anderson Memorial Victory
(Kaitlyne Freer, Smethport, PA) Wyatt Scott emerged victorious in a competitive and caution-filled Woah Nellie Productions UMP Modified Feature, showcasing precision, patience, and strategic driving to secure the win. The feature event was briefly disrupted by back-to-back cautions on laps two and three, creating an early opportunity for position changes. Scott capitalized on the restart, making a bold move on the high side through turns one and two to advance into second place. He followed it with a smooth inside pass in turns three and four, taking command of the race on lap five. Michael McGee applied early pressure, maintaining close pursuit until lap nine, when he broke exiting turn four, which caused him to lose traction and come to a stop at the top of the corner, drawing another caution and ending his bid for the lead. On the ensuing restart, Watson made a strong charge into second, while Mason Lobb and CJ Ramsey engaged in a fierce battle for third position the remainder of the race. The field was slowed again on lap 12 when Arianna Samuelson experienced engine failure, resulting in smoke and a spin that brought her to a stop on the backstretch. Following the restart, the race settled into a more consistent pace. The two RUSH Pro Mods, Ed Carley and Josh Canfield, remained evenly matched mid-pack, while at the front, Wyatt Scott steadily extended his lead. With each lap, he built a commanding advantage, driving a composed and efficient race to clinch the feature win.
Brady Wonderling made it two in a row in the Troups Creek Heating RUSH Crate Late Model division, leading every lap from start to finish in a clean, efficient drive. He jumped out front at the green flag and began lapping traffic by lap 5. On lap 12, Jake Wilber slowed on the backstretch, but a caution was avoided as he exited safely. Paul Grigsby began to close the gap by lap 14 as the leaders navigated traffic. Behind them, Austin Hauser and Zach Carley ran side-by-side for several laps in a tight battle for fourth. Back-to-back cautions on laps 17 and 18 brought the field together and gave Grigsby a shot at the lead. He made several attempts, showing his nose multiple times, but couldn’t complete the pass. Wonderling held his line and secured his second consecutive feature win.
Josh Outman captured the Mr. D’s Donuts SHARP Mini Late Model Feature with a strong mid-race move and a dominant finish. Outman took the lead from Terry Mealy on lap 5 of the 10-lap event, hit the fast pedal and never looked back. Once out front, he steadily pulled away from the field, building nearly a two-second advantage by the checkered flag. The race ran caution-free, allowing Outman to maintain a smooth pace and secure the victory.
Mike Parmenter claimed the victory in the Lee Anderson Memorial, Costa’s SuperMarket Pure Stock Feature, leading the race from start to finish. Parmenter jumped to an early lead and controlled the pace throughout the race. Behind him, Joe Skinner and Bruno Mowery engaged in a hard-fought battle for second. Mowery appeared to have the faster car, but Skinner held his line and kept the door closed. Mid-race, Dennis Hathaway entered the track, 12 laps down, under green in front of the leaders, nearly forcing a caution, but the field remained under green until a yellow flew with one lap to go, setting up a final restart. In the one-lap shootout, Mowery finally made his move, getting around Skinner in turns 3 and 4 to secure second place. Parmenter held strong up front to take the win.
Ryan Burke captured the Mini Stock Feature win with a strong performance, taking the lead on lap 3 and holding off persistent pressure from Curtis Rung. Rung stayed close throughout the race but was unable to make a move for the lead, settling for second. Behind them, Dennis Harrison and Shaine Putt battled for third over the entire 15-lap event, with Putt ultimately coming out on top to secure the final podium spot.
Addi Chamberlain led all 12 laps to win the Kids Mini Stock Feature, controlling the race from the green flag in a four-car field. Despite a couple of cautions brought out by Alicia Miller, the race remained largely uneventful up front. Jake Skinner held steady in second place for the entire event, while Kyliegh Putt secured the third position. Chamberlain’s consistent pace and control earned her a flag-to-flag victory in the youth division.

B. Wonderling, Mealy, Hamer, T. Putt, Chamberlain Capture Victories at McKean County Raceway Friday Evening
(Kaitlyne Freer, Smethport, PA) Brady Wonderling held his own and emerged victorious in the Troups Creek Heating RUSH Crate Late Model Feature for the first time at McKean County Raceway, holding off late pressure from both Paul Grigsby and his hard-charging brother. At the drop of the green, it was Grigsby who stormed to the early lead, showing impressive speed through the opening laps. Meanwhile, Jeremy Wonderling was slicing through the field, rocketing from his 8th-place starting spot into 3rd in just two circuits, putting both Wonderling brothers in striking distance. As laps clicked off, Jeremy began reeling in Brady, closing the gap inch by inch while Grigsby maintained control up front. The battle tightened dramatically just past halfway, when lap traffic triggered a caution on lap 12, resetting the field and the stakes. On the restart, it was Brady Wonderling who made his move—powering past Grigsby to seize the lead. Grigsby refused to let him go easily, stalking Wonderling’s rear bumper over the final stretch, with Jeremy in tow looking for any opening of his own. Despite relentless pressure, Brady held strong, taking the checkers in one of the night’s most competitive features. Grigsby settled for second, while Jeremy Wonderling completed the podium after an impressive charge through the pack.
Terry Mealy claimed a dramatic win in the Mr. D’s Donuts SHARP Mini Late Model feature, edging out Josh Outman at the line by just 0.02 seconds in Friday evening’s closest finish. Mealy took the lead early and steadily extended his advantage, building nearly a one-second gap over the field by lap 7. However, Travis Asel began closing that gap shortly after, catching Mealy by lap 9. Chris Whyte and Josh Outman also joined the lead pack, forming a tight four-car battle just as a caution came out on lap 11 for debris. On the restart, Outman made a decisive move, jumping from fourth to second on the first lap back under green. The front three—Mealy, Outman, and Asel—ran nose to tail and frequently side by side, keeping the outcome in doubt to the very end. Coming to the white flag, Outman pulled even with Mealy at the flag stand and edged ahead briefly. The two raced side by side through the final lap, making contact in turn four and again down the frontstretch before Mealy surged ahead at the line to secure the win by the narrowest of margins.
Zach Hamer secured the win in the Costa’s SuperMarket Pure Stock feature. Hamer and Bruno Mowery raced side by side during lap 2 and continued to run nose to tail for the next 10 laps, with Mowery applying steady pressure throughout the first half of the race. Following lap 12, Hamer began to create separation from Mowery and the rest of the field, gradually building a comfortable lead. As the race wore on, lap times across the field began to fall off, but Hamer maintained a consistent pace and controlled the final laps. He took the checkered flag with a solid margin, closing out a strong performance and adding his first feature win of the season at MCR.
Trever Putt earned the Mini Stock feature victory on Friday night, completing a late-race pass to secure the win in a competitive field. Early in the event, Ryan Burke held the lead, but mechanical issues forced him to slow and exit the track on lap 2. That handed the lead to last week’s feature winner, Preston Cobb, with Trever Putt moving into second. Behind the front-runners, a tight battle developed for third, as Shaine Putt and Holden Heineman raced side by side for several laps. A similar contest unfolded between Khloe Griffin and Dennis Harrison, who dueled for fifth and sixth throughout the middle stages of the race. Trever Putt steadily closed the gap on Cobb, eventually catching him on lap 10. As the leaders approached the white flag, Putt made his move to the outside, pulling alongside Cobb, passing him and never looking back.
Addison Chamberlain captured her first victory of the season in the Kids Mini Stock Feature after a well-timed pass and a late-race caution helped shift momentum in her favor. Jake Skinner jumped to an early lead and controlled the pace through the opening laps. As the race progressed, Chamberlain and Kyleigh Putt closed in, battling side by side for second and eventually challenging for the lead. The race took a dramatic turn on lap 10 when Chamberlain made a move to pass Putt. At the same moment, a lapped car—Alivia Miller—got loose and drifted up the track. With no room to react, Putt made contact and neither she nor Miller were able to continue to race, bringing out the caution. On the restart, Chamberlain restarted behind Skinner and used the momentum to her advantage. With one lap remaining, she made a clean pass and pulled away to secure the win—her first of the season.
Steve Dixon led from start to finish to secure a convincing victory in the Close Racing Supply RUSH Pro Mod feature event. Dixon took command early, jumping to the lead at the drop of the green flag and maintaining control throughout the race. Al Brewer settled into second and held the position through the opening laps as the field organized behind him. The race’s only caution came on lap 7 when Josh Canfield spun into the infield on the backstretch. On the restart, Ed Carley made a strong move, advancing into second and beginning to close the gap to Dixon. While Dixon and Carley maintained their positions at the front, a competitive battle developed for third between Brewer and Tyler Oakes. The two raced closely for multiple laps, exchanging pressure but maintaining clean racing. At the finish, Dixon crossed the line unchallenged, earning a flag-to-flag victory. Carley’s restart effort secured him second place, while Brewer held off Oakes to claim third.
Steve Dixon (driver) of the Tom McFall 33Y car, gets a DQ for Track Bashing during his on track interview, along with on and off the track inappropriate behavior that took place on the property of McKean County Raceway. Poor Sportsmanship will NOT be tolerated on the property. The consequence for this incident is: DQ for the night, loss of pay, loss of points, and a two week suspension.

McKean County Raceway Opens 2025 Season with Jim & Mike Duffy Memorial
(Kaitlyne Freer, Smethport, PA) After a rainout the previous week and a delayed start due to weather on race day, McKean County Raceway officially opened its 2025 season with the running of the Jim & Mike Duffy Memorial. Despite challenging conditions, officials, track crews, and drivers worked diligently to prepare the surface, allowing the full night of racing to proceed with a late start.
Austin Allen led all 20 laps to secure the Jim & Mike Duffy Memorial victory in the Troups Creek Heating RUSH Crate Late Model feature. 2024 track champion Jeremy Wonderling maintained pressure throughout, with Bill Holmes close behind in third. A lap 1 caution, the only caution of the race, sent Brad Mesler and Kevin Smith to the tail of the field and gave Mesler and Smith a fourth and fifth place finish respectively.
With rain in the forecast, only three Close Racing Supply RUSH Pro Mods made the trip. Josh Wilcox led all 15 laps to win the feature, while Josh Canfield and Dean Ingalls battled for the remaining podium spots behind him.
Mitch Styles led from green to checkers to take the win in the Costa’s SuperMarket Pure Stock feature. Bruno Mowery charged from 7th to 2nd by lap 3 and held the spot, with Joe Skinner close behind in third. The field thinned out as the race progressed, and the only caution came on lap 9 due to lap traffic. Styles held steady on the restart and closed out a strong season opener.
Josh Outman, last year’s track champion, went flag-to-flag to win the Mr. Ds Donut SHARP Mini Late Model feature at McKean County Raceway, but it wasn’t without pressure. Travis Asel stayed glued to Outman’s bumper for most of the 15-lap race and crossed the line a couple seconds behind him. The field thinned quickly as mechanical woes took their toll. Jesse Isadore was the first to retire, pulling off on lap 3. Jackson Himes followed on lap 6, and Rob Eaton exited just one lap later, leaving a reduced field chasing Outman’s bumper.
Preston Cobb started from the pole and led all 15 laps to claim the Mini Stock feature win. Dennis Harrison held second place until the final lap, when Ryan Burke, charging from last in the 10-car field, made a late move to take over the position and challenge Cobb for the lead. Despite Burke’s impressive charge, Cobb maintained his line to secure the caution-free victory.
Jake Skinner led all 12 laps in the Kids Mini Stock feature. Kyliegh Putt pulled off on lap 5 after slowing, leaving Alivia Miller in second. Miller couldn’t mount a challenge as Skinner cruised to victory in the 3-car race.
Thanks to all the drivers, crews, and fans who persevered through the delays to make the Jim & Mike Duffy Memorial a successful and respectful start to the 2025 season. Racing continues next Friday night at McKean County Raceway.

Racing Season Goes Out with a Bang: Fall Classic Finale Delivers at McKean County
(Jeremy Perry, Smethport, PA) What a difference a year makes! Last year’s Fall Classic was washed out by rain and chilling temperatures in the low 40s, but this year’s event couldn’t have been more picturesque. Under brilliant sunshine, temperatures soared to a balmy 77 degrees on race day, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the chill of night began to creep in, but the excitement of 109 cars racing at the fairgrounds kept the energy electric, warming the hearts of drivers and fans alike.
The Fall Classic at McKean County Raceway is synonymous with Super Late Models, and this year’s event delivered. Following Drake Troutman’s July victory, Saturday’s $3,000-to-win feature drew top talent, including Jon Lee, Dylan Yoder, Andrew Yoder, and Greg Oakes, among others. Lee set the pace with a 16.110 quick time and dominated his heat race. In the feature, Dylan Yoder led from the start, but Lee challenged after a lap 9 restart, passing Oakes, and setting his sights on Yoder. Despite identical lap times, cautions hindered Lee’s momentum. After the final caution on lap 16, Yoder pulled away, hitting his marks to secure his second career MCR victory, leading all 25 laps.
Mike Parmenter put on a dominating performance in the Costa’s Supermarket Pure Stock division on Saturday night, sweeping the feature event from start to finish. Starting from the pole, Parmenter faced immediate pressure from Joe Skinner, but remained poised and unflappable, never relinquishing his lead. Parmenter navigated the 15-lap feature, leading every lap to secure a convincing victory.
The Beaver Trucking and Excavating Sharp Mini Late Models took center stage next, setting up a thrilling showdown between Rob Eaton and Josh Outman. Eaton seized the early lead, but Outman played the waiting game, biding his time with a faster car. Despite Eaton’s defensive driving, Outman’s patience finally paid off on lap 12 when Eaton slightly faltered, allowing Outman to capitalize and take the lead. Outman led the final three laps, securing the feature win and sweeping the weekend at MCR.
Addi Chamberlain bounced back in style, dominating the Troups Creek Heating Kids Mini Stock feature after a dramatic previous outing. Just two weeks prior, Chamberlain had remarkably secured a feature win on September 20th despite blowing up the motor in the Preston Cobb-owned Mini Stock. This time, with a newly replaced engine, Chamberlain started on the front row and led all 12 laps, cruising to a convincing victory and preserving the motor’s integrity.
A talented field of 22 McKan Trucking & PV Paving Rush Late Models assembled Saturday night, with Jeremy Wonderling’s absence opening doors for contenders. Notable visitors Bryce Davis, Zack Carley, and Jason Genco looked to seize the opportunity. David Parker initially led the feature, but Davis took control on lap 4, replicating his past success at MCR. Following five consecutive cautions between laps 6 and 7, the race went green for the remainder. Davis navigated lap traffic, securing his second feature win of the season at the Fairgrounds.
The Cobb brothers stole the show in Saturday’s Nittany Mini Mart Mini Stock class, with Preston and Ridge starting on the front row. Preston took the early lead, but Ridge seized control on lap 4. The feature’s drama unfolded on lap 6 when Khloe Griffin’s 13G machine nearly flipped after climbing the front straightaway wall, prompting the final caution. With nine laps remaining, Ridge Cobb dominated the restart, leading the remainder to secure the feature win and sweep the weekend’s Mini Stock events.
The Kane Stebbins Construction Rush Pro Mod Class concluded its season with the night’s final feature. Steve Dixon took the green flag, but a multi-car incident in turns 3 and 4 on lap 2 shook up the field, involving JD Chamberlain, Josh Canfield, and Critter Hemphill. Following the final caution, Josh Wilcox put pressure on Dixon, but Dixon held firm, securing the feature win, and sweeping the weekend’s Rush Pro Mod events.
As the checkered flag falls on McKean County Raceway’s 2024 season, track management extends its sincerest appreciation to the entire racing community.
